While on visit with Sarafina, she met Randy Crawford who requested her to stay behind and perform with her.
In the year 1997, she joined the Duma Ka Ndlovu’s stage play titled ‘The Game’.
She was given a role as South African Mbhaqanga band. Nomthandazo “Thandaza” Buthelezi on Muvhango. When she first cast her part was minor, however, it grew and became one of the main characters.
To boost her career even more, Sindi Dlathu tried out auditions for the ‘Sarafina play’ by Mbongeni Ngema. She became one of few lucky contestants who were given roles in the play. Her role was that of an understudy for Sarafina. Dlathu even became fortunate because she went to the United States of America to perform the play.
Aat the US with Sarafina, she met Randy Crawford. Randy asked her whether she could stay and perform with her. This really helped her build her career and reach the stars.

Dlathu left the SABC 2 Daily drama Muvhango to play a leading role in the 1 Magic telenovela The River. On The River Mzansi, she plays the role of Lindiwe Dlamini-Dikana, a very fierce and strong woman, who’d do anything to protect her wealth and maintain her luxurious lifestyle.
Will Thandaza come back on muvhango?
Sindi Dlathu, who use to play the popular Thandaza on Muvhango, could be returning to our TV screens. The actress bid farewell to the SABC 2 soapie in the year, after twenty years on the show.
According to move Magazine, that comeback could be happening.
“There is hope that she might make a comeback. Muvhango associate producer, Morishe Matlejoane, says that Sindi’s exit isn’t necessarily permanent, as they have just frozen her character,” the publication reported.
Since leaving the show, Sindi has made an appearance on 1 Magic telenovela, The River.
